Interview Tips

Preparation separates candidates who get offers from those who don't. Here's a practical framework.

Use the STAR method for behavioral questions

Situation — set the scene. Task — what you needed to accomplish. Action — what you specifically did. Result — quantify the outcome. Prepare 5–7 STAR stories covering leadership, conflict, failure, and success.

Research the company deeply

Read recent news, earnings calls (for public companies), product pages, and Glassdoor reviews. Reference specific initiatives in your answers — it shows genuine interest.

Prepare questions to ask

  • "What does success look like in the first 90 days?"
  • "How does the team collaborate on [relevant project type]?"
  • "What's the biggest challenge facing the team right now?"

Technical interviews

Practice on LeetCode or HackerRank if you're in software. For other roles, prepare case studies or work samples. Think out loud — interviewers care about your process, not just the answer.

Follow up within 24 hours

Send a brief thank-you email referencing something specific from the conversation. Reiterate your interest and one reason you're a strong fit.

Polish your resume before you apply, then search open roles.
